It was created out of a passion to create a robust green tea blend of premium organic tea leaves. The Gunpowder green tea was a perfect fit. Gunpowder Green tea historically got its name from some travelers that walked into a tea farm and said in shock “Why do you have so many barrels of gunpowder?” The way that the tea leaves were rolled before they were dried gave the appearance of barrels of gunpowder. And the name took off!
